FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Who is eligible to apply?

To be eligible for funding, organizations must:

  • Be recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

  • Be based in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Georgia, South Carolina, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania

Organizations that have received Ramlose Foundation funding for three consecutive years are not eligible to apply in 2026.     

2. What types of projects does Ramlose generally fund? 

We generally fund smaller qualified organizations where grants will be used for specific equipment, special projects, or focused initiatives. We prefer grants that make a specific and identifiable impact, especially positive impacts on people. 

Small organizations receive preference over larger organizations.  Newer organizations that are approaching a breakthrough moment of impact may receive preference. 

We have a consistent history of funding grants in these areas:

  • Early Education

  • Human Services

  • Special Needs and Disabilities

  • Youth Development

3. What types of projects are rarely funded?

We seldom fund:

  • Organizations with an annual operating budget of over $3 million

  • Salaries or consulting fees

  • General operating support

  • Ongoing overhead

  • Large construction or capital improvement projects

  • Tuition

  • Promotional materials & website development

  • Staff trainings

  • Repetitive or multi-year grants to the same organization

We do not fund:

  • National organizations or the local/regional chapters of national organizations. 

  • Individuals

We rarely fund grants in these areas:

  • Animal Health Protection and Welfare

  • Civil Rights and Liberties

  • Community Development Events

  • Museums

  • Recreation and Sports

  • Religious Organizations

4. How much funding can we request?

Organizations may request up to $6,000.

Ramlose Foundation typically seeks opportunities where a relatively modest grant can create meaningful and measurable community impact.

5. What are the demographics of the ideal recipients of a Ramlose Grant? 

The Ramlose Foundation prefers to fund proposals that do not limit their beneficiaries to a particular demographic or group. 

Ramlose prefers to fund projects that have an impact on more than just a few individuals.

6.  What makes an application stand out? 

The Ramlose Foundation looks for well thought out, complete proposals that will have a meaningful and lasting effect. The best applications are specific and concise.

Itemize the cost of the project and what supplies or portions of it a Ramlose grant would cover.

Be sure you very distinctly define:

A. The specific amount of funding requested.

B. The program, initiative, project, or purchase the funds will support.

C. The approximate number of individuals who will benefit.

D. A brief description of the target population or community to be served.

7.  When can I submit my application and when will I know if it is funded?

The Ramlose Foundation will accept applications July 1 through August 31. 

The Ramlose Foundation will alert you of their decision by December 15 via email.  

8. My organization received a Ramlose grant. Are there any reporting requirements?

There are no reporting requirements after you have received a grant.
